One of my favorite! You can't go wrong with chef hiros creations. It is consistently high quality food, a peaceful yet comfortable setting and excellent service!
It's been a while since I've come here, only because of its location in Waikiki. But each time I do, always think why did I wait so long? Parking at the embassy suites valet is validated. Worth it! Just a short walk to the restaurant.
I came for restaurant week. Pre fixe menu for $75, plus a glass of wine, I left at $115...super content and stuffed! I'd say it's quite the deal!
Gina the waitress was so kind to help us out when they had said they ran out of the beef carpaccio. She hooked us up with some kanpachi! Even better in my opinion! She was so sweet and always checked on us. Speaking of the fish, it was fresh and paired well with the seed vinaigrette...my only complaint is that it was too much sauce.
The uni caviar...need I say more? More like give me more! Everything was fresh and delicious.
The pasta....noodles perfectly audante and not too much sauce. The taste was fantastic!
The sous vide duck! I ate it all despite being so full. It was tender and juicy.
The dessert of strawberry panna cotta ... didn't like it. I only liked the vanilla gelato atop. The stuff on the bottom Aka the real dessert ...pass. It had the consistency of oatmeal and a tart taste.
But the night was great and I'll definitely be back. For the food, setting, and service. A+ -

Took my mom here for restaurant week. I made reservations but we still ended up waiting almost 30 minutes to be seated. We were seated outside which doesn't have much of a view because you know it's Waikiki but the atmosphere was nice and my mom liked the music they played.
The drinks were just okay for the price. Nothing really wow. We both got completely different meal choices and agreed the pasta dishes were the best so I would definitely go back for that. The steak and fish were just okay, they both were a bit lacking flavor. The dessert didn't really work for my but my mom who loves blood orange liked it so maybe just a preference issue. Overall willing to try again. -

Food is great, but service is slow.
I made a reservation on open table for 1:00pm lunch and when I got there so many people were waiting to be seated. The hostess said it would be about 10-15 minutes since people are still seated. I came back in 10 minutes and she said it would be another 10 minutes since people are leaving now. She also said it would be a patio seating but I asked for inside and a table left as we spoke so she kindly seated us inside by the host station.
We came here for restaurant week and I've been here for restaurant week years before. I never had lunch though so I was curious to see how it would be. The first course kampachi carpaccio was amazing! The pastas we got were mentaiko and a tomato sauce with crab claw took almost 30 minutes to arrive. Very tasty both dishes, then soon after the pasta the main course of the catch of the day and filet mignon arrived. I definitely think the filet mignon has more flavor and the fish was bland. Final course was a blood orange panna Cotta which was very unique. There was a scoop of vanilla ice cream which paired well. Overall, food was good and for the price of $35 for lunch is a deal. Service is slow but they are courteous. -

I finally got to try Taormina for Restaurant Week. I have seen the raves for their mentaiko and uni pasta. It was pretty crowded even for lunch and I glad I had a reservation to get the second floor (more secluded).
The restaurant week menu comes with antipasto, a choice of pasta and main, and a dessert. My husband and I ordered one of each to try everything.
The meat and fish were both cooked right, and moist. However the pasta was overcooked in my opinion. Everything was not bad but they did not stand out and no wow factor. But I looooved their dessert....it was excellent.
The service was amazing. I definitely enjoyed the nice atomasphere with my husband but I am not sure if the food was worth the price. -

This place has good ambience. Service was good. The appetizer focaccia was nice but was not warm.
The pasta - they let me convert a meat pasta to a vegetarian. The pasta was quite delicious with egglpant and a creamy arabbiata sauce. The highlight for me was the dessert drink sambuca served with 3 coffee beans. I absolutely loved that drink and having a hard time finding a restaurant in my town that serves the same drink!
